Request for proposals (RFP) for the Operation of the Whitney M. Young Job Corps Center located in Simpsonville, Kentucky will be available approximately July 8, 1997, for issue in response to written requests. The approximate average capacity of the center is 355 students (155 residential males, 200 residential females, 0 non-residential males and 0 non-residential females). The contractor shall provide Academic and Vocational Training, operate a Counseling and Social Development Program, and operate the following support services: Health Services, Processing of Student Records, Discipline System, Clothing Issue, Mail Services and applicable services. The Contractor shall provide overall Center Management and Administration as follows: Contract and Personnel Administration, Staff Training, Financial Management, Procurement and Property Management, Facility Operations and Maintenance, Security and Safety Services, Community Relations and Public Information. It is anticipated that the resultant contract will cover the period March 1, 1998 through February 28, 2000, plus three governmental unilateral renewal options of one year. A pre-proposal conference and site visit of the Job Corps Center will convene at 9:00 a.m. on July 22, 1997, at Whitney M. Young Job Corps Center. Interested firms should limit their attendance to no more than three persons. Upon entering the facility, tour participants must report to and register at the appropriately assigned building for the conference.
