lawrencp@cc.tacom.army.mil. The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments
Command (TACOM) will be negotiating on a sole source basis with Detroit
Diesel Corporation for this effort. The contractor will provide the
information, supplies and services necessary for timely and cost
effective management to accomplish the engineering and related system
technical support functions for DDC series of engines used in fielded
Army combat vehicles. Support will include, but not be limited to, such
activities as design and redesign studies to correct known or potential
deficiencies to accomplish cost reductions and to maintain current the
contract item original data for serviceability and intended use. Such
studies may be required with respect to proposals for engineering
changes and attendant processes and methods. Work specifically defined
in Work Directives shall include observer service, configuration
management, safety engineering, manprint analysis, alternate source
part evaluations, training, preparing drawings and records, packaging,
maintenance engineering/ILS, publication, quality engineering,
assistance in preparation of reviews and various briefing materials and
