Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks a contractor to
provide international courier services. The contractor will pick up and
transmit time sensitive materials to countries all over the world
especially in Africa, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. The materials
will consist of envelopes and/or boxes of documents weighing between
one and 150 pounds. The materials will be picked up by the contractor
from the USAID mailroom, located in the Ronald Reagan International
Trade Building, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. It is
estimated that an IFB will be issued on or about July 7, 1997 with a
closing date of August 7, 1997. The preferred method of distribution of
USAID procurement information is via the Internet or by request of a
solicitation on a 3.5" floppy disk (WordPerfect 5.1/5.2 format). This

IFB, once issued, can be downloaded from the Agency web site. The
Worldwide Web address is http://www.info.usaid.gov. Select Business and
Procurement Opportunities from the home page, then "USAID
Procurements." On the following screen, select "Download Available
USAID Solicitations." The IFB can also be downloaded via Anonymous File
Transfer Protocol (FTP). The FTP address is FTP.INFO.USAID.GOV. Logon
on using the user identification of "anonymous" and the password is
your e-mail address. Look under the following directory for the IFB:
pub/OP/IFB/MOP971171/mop971171.ifb. Receipt of this IFB through
INTERNET must be confirmed by written notification to the contact
person noted above. It is the responsibility of the recipient of this
solicitation document to ensure that it has been received from INTERNET
in its entirety and USAID bears no responsibility for data errors
resulting from transmission or conversion processes. Bidders requesting
hard copies should supply three self-addressed mailing labels for the
solicitation and any amendments that may be issued. The SIC Code is
4513 and the small business size standard is 1,500 employees. The fax

proposed contract is 100% set aside for small business concerns.
