Room 4410, Washington, DC 20590 A -- EFFECTS OF ROADSIDE DESIGN ON ROLLOVER -- EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN SOL
DTFH61-97-Q-00146 DUE 071897 POC Stephanie D. Parker, Contract
Specialist, HAM40-G, (202)366-6014 The Federal Highway Administration
has a requirement to research the effects of Highway Design on
Rollover. The research goal is to develop and evaluate effective,
affordable and implementable highway design treatments that reduce the
frequency and severity of vehicle rollovers. The research may consider
both roadway and roadside related tripping mechanisms and factors (i.e.
departure speed and angle) that influence the probability and severity
of rollover when vehicles leave the traveled way. The objectives will
be to identify directions for future research that are most likely to
yield effective, affordable and implementable highway design
treatments to mitigate rollovers and develop a detailed plan for future
research for studies to perform that research. Innovative thinking in
charting the course for future research is essential to achieving the
research goal. Award will be made via purchase order to the bidder
whose bid is considered most advantageous to the Government based on
price, technical factors and experience as set forth in the RFQ.
Mulitiple awards may be made from this RFQ. Full and open competition
