CONTRACTING ON THE INTERNET -- Merced County's Procurement Technical
Assistance Center (PTAC) the "California Central Valley Contract
Procurement Center (CCVCPC)" is conducting an all day training course
to educate and train businesses in the fast changing world of
government contracting on the WEB. The course will detail how to
effectively apply internet resources to help businesses obtain federal,
state and local government contracts. The new mandatory CCR
registration will be covered as well as the current status of EDI and
FACNET. The internet has changed the face of procurement, learning
about contracting opportunities is just the beginning. The internet can
also provide businesses with the tools needed to successfully take
advantage of those opportunities -- business and contract information,
market research, trade data, federal rules, technical data and more --
information that can help you get the contract. The course is taught by
Jane E. McGinnis, Director of the Contract Procurement Center. The
course fee is $50 and includes all training materials as well as
morning refreshments and a catered lunch. This comprehensive training
will be held on Wednesday June 25, 1997 at the Merced Civic Center, 678
W. 18th St. in Merced, California from 9 am to 4 pm. Advance
