MANAGED PROGRAM SOL DAAB07-97- POC Point of Contact -- Marlene Bascom,
Contract Specialist, 908-532-2766. Contracting Office,Edward F.
Schindel, 908-532-4847. E-MAIL: MARKET SURVEY,
bascom@doim6.monmouth.army.mil. This is a market survey conducted by
the Department of the Army to determine the existence of additional
sources for a follow-on contract for engineering/field support services
provided to the SINCGARS Radio Systems. An urgent requirement now
exists for the continuation of these current supporting services which
are being provided to the Government by General Dynamics Land Systems,
Tallahassee, Florida, under contract DAAB07-95-C-C251. The continued
engineering/field support is required for production and sustainment
efforts involving the Ground Integrated Communications Security(ICOM)
and the SINCGARS Ground System Improvement Program(SIP) to include the
Internet Controller Card(INC). These efforts are in support of
equipment developed and under contracts
DAAB07-88-C-T-026,DAAB07-94-C-C402, DAAB07-95-C-C502 and
DAAB07-96-C-C502 by GDLS. These support services include systems
engineering support and management, program management to time and
materials supplied under these services, responses to requests from the
Government and/or major Government contractors on an on-call basis to
perform specific work directives, all of which shall be performed with
minimal Government assistance and data. Accordingly, the perspective
contractor would require an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the
design and capabilities of the SINCGARS Radio Systems. Specific
knowledge of the Army's Tactical Internet(TI) architecture and how it
relates to the SINCGARS SIP INC and its emerging software changes to
accommodate TI maturation are extremely important. The Government does
not possess configuration control of the necessary documentation and
system level drawings for the SIP. Therefore, at this time a complete
technical data package does not exist to support this acquisition. This
notice is not a request for bids or proposals. All responses either
written or verbal, to this announcement, should be forward to PM, TRCS,
Attention Mr. Brian Baroni(908)532-2301, no later than 16 Jun 97.
