69 -- CLINICAL ALGORITHM TRAINING SYSTEM (CATS) SOL 541-173-97 DUE 062097 POC Jeanelle Wright, (216) 838-6091 The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center intends to award a Sole Source contract to Oded Susskind, P.O. Box 112, Brookline, MA. 02146. The CATS software program will be used as a educational tool in VAMC facilities to teach specific guidelines to clinicians. CATS has three learning activity units; study (interactive flow chart of the algorithm with annotations, references and video); practice (solving patient care cases using the algorithm); evaluate (knowledge and skills assessment). The program can be used on a single PC (with CD-ROM) or a floppy disc), networked PS's and the internet. The program has the capability to document the user's score on a post-test, so the software can be used as enduring materials from which continuing education credits can be granted to practitioners. We are proposing to pilot this product with the Diabetes Mellitus Clinical Guidelines. The proposed contract is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-1.
