Z -- UNDER GROUND HEATING SYSTEMS, FT LEWIS, WA SOL DACA67-97-R-0055 DUE 102897 POC Contract Specialist John M Norway (206) 764-6659 (Site Code DACA67) This is a design/build for the repair and upgrade of heating systems at Fort Lewis, Washington, for the following work: (a) Demolish four steam boilers in plant number 14, building 3850. (b) Provide three new Low Temperature Hot Water (LTHW) boilers along with all necessary upgrades to provide an automated central heat plant which will supply low temperature hot water to 34 buildings which are currently served by 110 psig steam. (c) Provide radiant heat in the maintenance bays of 31 buildings which are currently served by 110 psig steam. (d) Provide individual hot water boilers to service the existing hot water heating systems (primarily administrative areas) for the 31 buildings which are to receive radiant heat in the maintenance bays. (e) Provide a shallow trench Low Temperature Hot Water heat distribution system to serve 34 buildings. (f) Provide LTHW to hot water converters for both heating and domestic hot water services at each of 34 buildings which are being converted from steam to LTHW. The RFP package shall consist of as-built drawings and reference drawings as required to depict the existing conditions in sufficient detail such that the proposers can adequately determine both engineering and construction costs. The successful proposer shall provide engineering services as required to determine the size of central heat plant boilers, the distribution line size, distribution pumps, and individual stand alone boiler capacities. The following CEGS specifications are anticipated to be included in the RFP: 02696 Heat Distribution Systems in Concrete Trenches, 02699 Valve Manholes and Piping and Equipment in Valve Manholes, 15555 Central High Temperature Water Generating Plant and Auxiliaries (Modified for Low Temperature Hot Water). AVAILABILITY: Plans and specs available on or about 25 Sep 97 at no charge per set. No individual sheets are available. Documents will be issued on a first come, first served basis until supply is exhausted. No phone requests accepted. Refer to RFP Number DACA67-97-R-0055 when ordering. Requests MUST be in writing and be received before bid documents will be mailed. Please be sure to include if you are a Prime, Sub or Plans Room. Plans and specs may be picked up from the Plans Room Monday thru Friday between the hours of 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM. Submit requests by 15 Sep 97. Estimated dollar value is in the range of $10 Million to $25 Million and completion period is 480 days. Standard Industrial Classification Code is 1711. Project is open to both large and small business. If you are a large business and your bid or proposal will exceed $1,000,000 you will be required to submit a subcontracting plan. A concern is considered small business under this solicitation if its annual receipts average over the past three years do not exceed $7 Million.
