Two awards will be made to a successful bidder(s) of this solicitation for streambank protection to be performed on the Cumberland and Tennessee Rivers as specified as Area 1 and Area 2. Bidders may submit bids for either Area 1, Area 2 or both Area 1 and Area 2 using the separate bid sheets. Streambank protection for Area 1 award is defined as an area along the Cumberland River which extends from Davidson County, Tennessee to the Ohio River, plus an area on the Tennessee River from the Kentucky/Tennessee border to the Ohio River. Streambank protection for an Area 2 award is defined as an area on the Tennessee River encompassing Hamilton County, Tennessee. The work consists of clearing and grubbing; excavation; geotextile placement; riprap stone placement, and gabion placement along the riverbank. Work shall be performed from a floating plant on the river and all debris removal and water quality requirements will be requlated by the applicable State, Federal and local laws. The principal items of work include site work, placement of geotextile materials and placement of stone materials. This solicitation is IFB No. DACW62-97-B-0015 with an award duration of one (1) base year which will end 1 October 1998 with two (2) option years thereafter which may or may not be exercised by the government. Delivery Orders may be issued through a period ending one year after date of award. The range per year, per each award is estimated in the $1,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00 range. This solicitation is UNRESTRICTED. Award will be made pursuant to DIGS Program P.L. 100-656.
