DESC: Edwards AFB CA has a requirement for one each 20-high Blast Deflector fence and the installation of referenced fence and the relocation of one each EXISTING 20-foot high Blast Deflector fence. The new deflector shall be designed for afterburner runup at minimum distance of 66 feet from leading edge of deflector and shall be capable of deflecting entire blast envelope upwards at a minimum angle of 60 degrees under no wind conditions. The deflector shall be the curved, nonperforated, galvanized, corrugated type with corrugations running in a horizontal direction, and shall have a horizontally disposed slot. Deflecting surface will be of galvanized corrugated steel with minimum of 2 ounce zinc coating. All bolts nuts and washers will be cadmium or zinc plated. All structural members, parts and corrugated metal will be hot dip galvanized with a minimum coating of 2.0 ounce zinc per square foot of surface.
