510/559-6018, FAX 510/559-6023 Provide alfalfa hay "ton" bales, 4' x 4'
x 8' square, tied with twine or wire, grown and baled in the 1997
growing season. Hay must be free from mold, rain or frost damage and
excessive weeds or other foreign material. Hay will be USDA Grade No.
2 or better, i.e., early to average maturity, early to mid-bloom in
legumes (up to 25% bloom), leafy (40% or more leaves), fine to medium
stemmed. Minimum 18% crude protein, dry matter 87% minimum 94% maximum,
acid detergent fiber shall not exceed 33%. First crop hay is preferred
but second crop may be considered. Bidders must indicate which crop is
being offered. 577 ton is to be delivered, unloaded and stacked at the
hay storage building at the USDA, Agricultural Research Service, U.S.
Sheep Experiment Station in Dubois, Idaho, and 829 ton is to be
delivered, unloaded and stacked at the Mud Lake Feedlot in Mud Lake,
idaho. This solicitation is unrestricted and open to both small and
large business concerns. Invitation For Bid No. 25-91H2-97 will be
