Health through the Program Support Center has a requirement entitled
"Federal Technology Transfer Program to Advance Novel Breast Imaging
Technologies". The purpose of the acquisition is to advance the current
state of the art in breast imaging including early detection, local
staging, and image-guided minimally invasive tissue characterization
and treatment through development, testing and transfer of imaging
technologies. The program includes testing of several types of breast
imaging technology including optimization and testing of full-field
digital mammography, breast MRI, nuclear medicine and PET approaches,
ultrasound, image-guided tumor diagnosis and treatment, image
processing, computer-aided diagnosis, and telemammography. It is
anticipated that multiple cost-reimbursement type contracts will be
awarded. Anticipated release date is July 1, 1997. All requests for the
