R -- USAID/GUYANA'S BUILDING EQUITY AND ECONOMIC PARTICIPATION (BEEP) PROJECT POC Jeffery D. Bell, Contracting Officer, Int'l, Tel. No. 809/221-1100. This notice is intended to publicize USAID's intention to enter a sole source amendment with IGI International, Inc. USAID entered into a contract with IGI International, Inc. for a period of performance between October 26, 1995 until January 31, 1998. Due to funding limitation and key personnel changes within the Government of Guyana (GOG), implementation of the BEEP project has been delayed. Because of the delay in implementation activities, the Mission and the GOG forsee a need to continue to obtain technical assistance services with IGI International, Inc., under the BEEP Project until August 31, 1998. It is felt that this contract extension will provide sufficient time for the Mission to decide on its future strategy when the BEEP project expires in May 31, 1998. The Mission has elected to sole source this amendment due to the anticipated high costs involved in mobilization of a contractor and the extended period required by the contractor to develop a working relationship with appropriate partieswithin GOG.
