COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 19,1997 PSA#187099 -- ALASKA, NORTHWEST, NORTH & SOUTH CENTRAL REGIONS FACILITIES
MAINTENANCE INITIATIVE!! The Defense Industrial Supply Center (DISC) is
seeking proposals from business entities interested in participating in
an acquisition as a Prime Vendor for a facilities maintenance supplies
initiative. The initiative will encompass all supplies associated with
facilities maintenance to include plumbing/HVAC/refrigeration, lumber,
electrical, small tools, paint, hardware and assorted fixtures. This
is a representative list and should not be considered exhaustive of all
products that will be required of the initiative. All items are brand
name specific and/or generic commercial products. A Prime Vendor, or
integrated suplier, can be defined as the designation of a single
source of supply for a wide range of products. Potential implementation
sites would include approximately sixty-seven(67) military facilities
located in the following regions: Alaska (5 facilities) -- total est
value $14,000000.00/yr,; North West /region of the United States (17
facilities)- including Northern California down to San Francisco,
Washington, Idaho, Wyoming -- total est value 36,000,000.00/yr,; North
Central region of the United States (14 facilities) -- including North
Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio,
Kentucky, Missouri -- total est. value $60,000,000.00/yr.; & South
Central Region of the United States (31 facilities) -- including
Colorado, New Mexico, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana -- total est.
value $82,000,000.00. Offers may be submitted, and will be considered,
on any or all regions. Prospective contractors should be able to
adquately support purchases that will range from minimum (to be
negotiated) with a maximum potential stated above for each Region, per
year during the option years of the contract. The maximum dollar value
within each region is contingent on the number of facilities and the
extent of the participation of those facilities at any given time. The
initial implementation facilities for each Region, are to be
determined. Prospective contractors should have an on-line Electronic
Order Entry (EOE) system and have Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
capability. Subject solicitation will be issued on an unrestricted
basis, with a 10% evaluation preference for SDB concerns, with the
resultant contract being an Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC) for one
base year with four (4) one-year options. This will be a best value
source selection acquisition in wich technical merit is considered more
important than price. Solicitation SPO500-97-R-0108, including the
Statement of work and complete details and conditions, is expected to
be issued on 02 JUL 1997 with an estimated closing date of 02 SEP 1997.
