452-3253 The project consists of maintenance dredging of entrance
channel. Contract will be for 3 years with two dredge cycles per year.
The second dredge cycle of each year will be an option item. The
contractor can dispose of dredge material either on the beach or in the
nearshore. Dredging quantities are estimated at approximately 150,000
cubic meters for each year. The Standard Industrial Classification
(SIC) code is 1629, Dredging and Surface Cleanup Activities, $13.5M
average annual revenue for the last (3) three fiscal years. Estimated
cost range is $1,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00. Plans and Specifications
will be available on or about July 9, 1997 at a cost of $10.00

Disadvantaged firms are encouraged to participate as a Prime
Contractors or as members of joint ventures with other small
businesses. In addition, all interested contractors are reminded that
the successful contractor will be expected to place subcontracts to the
maximum practicable extent with small and disadvantaged firms in
accordance with the provisions of Public Law 95-507. To be considered
small, a firm must perform the dredging of at least 40% of the yardage
with its own dredging equipment or equipment owned by another small
