Y -- SCIENCE CITY AT UNION STATION SOL 1 DUE 072997 POC Kathy Westerbeck (816)460-2212 E-MAIL: Science City at Union Station, kathyw@toto.net. PUBLIC NOTICE Union Station Assistance Corporation and The Kansas City Museum announce their intent to issue Requests for Proposals to qualified General Contractors on or about the 27th day of June, 1997, for the Science City at Union Station project, located in Kansas City, Missouri. General Contractor proposals will price the Project's structural, demolition, and civil work as well as General Contractor fees and general conditions for the entire project. Progress drawings for the balance of the project will be included to afford contractors an understanding of the entire project's scope. Those submitting proposals will be required to furnish a 5% proposal guarantee and will be required to provide satisfactory evidence of their ability to obtain and maintain throughout the course of the project a 100% labor and materials payment bond and a performance bond for 100% of the final contract amount which, for planning purposes, is estimated to be $100 million. Interested general contractors or general contractor joint ventures capable of meeting the above bonding requirements and possessing a successful completion record of large scale, adaptive reuse commercial projects should contact either Don McCormick or Glen Hopkins at the project office at (816) 460-2222. A fee of $2,000 (to defray the costs of printing and delivery service) will be charged to all parties requesting a set of RFP documents. Contact Kathy Westerbeck at the Project Office to arrange for delivery. Local area Kansas City Plan Rooms, to include the various DBE Plan Rooms, will contain a complete set of documents for this Request for Proposal and all subsequent Request for Proposal issues. General contractors will have approximately one month to submit their proposals, which will be due approximately July 29, 1997. Following selection of a General Contractor, Requests for Proposals (RFPs) will be issued for the balance of the subcontracts necessary to complete the Project. (0168)
