42 -- NON-DEVELOPMENTAL, OPEN-CIRCUIT SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS FOR FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT POC SEA 0241, Evelyn Lamendola, 703-602-8200; SEA 0241, Thomas Bikowski, Contracting Officer, 703-602-8200 The Naval Sea Systems Command will be procuring a non-developmental, open-circuit, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) for fire fighting using one or more Blanket Purchasing Agreement(s) (BPA) under existing General Service Administration (GSA) Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) Multiple Award Contracts. The SCBA shall fully comply with, and be certified to, Title 42 of the Federal Code of Regulations (42 CFR) Part 84, Subpart H, and shall comply with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 1981. The SCBA is in the Federal Supply Class (FSC) Group 42, Part I, Section B, of the GSA FSS. The estimated order quantity for a five year BPA is 5,000 SCBAs and 14,000 spare cylinders. During the ordering period, the Government may conduct competitions for additional BPAs covering the Navy SCBAs. NAVSEA ultimately intends to outfit the fleet with the new SCBAs for approximately 21,000 SCBAs and 50,000 spare cylinders.
