DACA78) The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking firms to provide a
"Bailey type vehicular bridge". Procure materials for use in
constructing a 130 ft. long, single lane, steel panel type vehicular
bridge. The materials shall consist of prefabricated modular steel
truss panels, transom beams, and stringers. The material package shall
include all required tools, launching rollers, and jacks that are
needed to erect the bridge from one bank without the use of lifting
equipment. Special adapters are required to connect the new bridge
panels to existing Bailey type bridging that will be used as a
launching nose for the new bridge. Materials must be procured from
Acrow Corporation or Mabey Bridge, Inc. Materials shall be suitable for
loading and shipment in ISO shipping containers for overseas delivery.
The contractor will deliver the bridge to U.S. Department of State,
Baltimore Logistics Center, Baltimore, Maryland. Ultimate destination
is Cameroon, Africa. An option item for Technical representative
services at the job site in Cameroon is included in the procurement.
The TR will be required to travel to Cameroon to provide installation
and safety instructions and general oversite of the actual bridge
erection, which will be by a local contractor. Type of contract will be
Firm-Fixed Price. Tentative award date is July/August timeframe.
