This is a combined synopsis solicitation for commercial services prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation Number 53SBNB760197 is issued as a Request for Quote. This is a sole source procurement with Service America Corporation, Baltimore, Maryland, because the convention is at the Baltimore Convention Center. The Baltimore Convention Center has reserved all catering privileges, including the sale of food and beverages, to their in-house caterer, Service America Corporation. No other caterer is allowed to serve functions at this facility. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-46. This action is being done under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 5812. The small business size standard is no more than 500 employees. STATEMENT OF WORK. The Contractor shall provide food, equipment, personnel, and services for the 20th National Information Systems Security Conference, October 7 through October 10, 1997 to be held at the Baltimore Convention Center, Baltimore, Maryland. CLIN 0001 is for COFFEE BREAKS for 1252 attendees for the conference period. The service shall include, but is not limited to, coffee, decaf, tea, assorted juices, assorted cold drinks, pastries, and breads. CLIN 0002 is for a RECEPTION for approximately 1096 attendees on Tuesday, October 7,1997. The buffet reception shall include heavy hors d/oeuvres served in various variations (i.e., carved beef, pasta, vegetables, fruits, desserts, etc.), assorted beverages (coffee, decaf, tea), and a cash bar. Evaluation factors shall include the contractor's ability to provide the requested services and past experience in providing commercial services for similar numbers of people. Technical factors are slightly more important than price. The provision at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to offerors -- Commercial Items, and FAR Provision 52.212-2, Evaluation of Commercial Items are applicable to this acquisition. The clause at FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders -- Commercial Items, apply to this acquisition.
