The project consists of whole neighborhood revitalization of 42 family housing quarters to include neighborhood amenities and support facilities which meet current standards of size, habitability, safety, energy conservation, and to extend the life expectancy of these units. Work is to include, alteration to floor plans (for handicapped-accessibility conversion, 5% of 42 units = 2 units), adding a bath tub; upgrade kitchens; remove appliances; replacing interior and exterior doors; replacing finishes (wall and/or floor); remodeling bathrooms, replacing plumbing fixtures removal of lead paint; replacing oil furnaces; upgrading domestic water heating requirements; replacing roofing; repair to foundation walls; providing insulation; replacing windows; improving storm drainage; removing and replacing storm water culvert; removing and replacing existing concrete sidewalk; removing and replacing damaged curb gutter section in various family housing courts; landscaping around family housing complex; and upgrading electrical system.
