54 -- RF TOWER SOL N0025397R0028 DUE 081197 POC Contact Point, Victor Angkico, 360/396-5671 The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), Division Keyport intends to solicit for a 160 foot, RF tower utilizing the policy and procedures of FAR Part 12, Commercial Acquisitions. The foundation and installation of the tower are also being required. The tower shall be 3 legged and must comply with current ANSI/EIA-RS-222-F standards for 125mph basic wind speed with 1/2 inch ice. All steel parts shall be hot-dip galvanized. The tower shall be installed on Octopus Mountain in Washington State. The approximate latitude/longitude and elevation are as follows: 47deg44min57sec North; 120deg10min27sec West; 2640 feet. The tower shall include lightning grounding provisions, an approved safety climbing system and ladder, full height lightning protection system, and three work platforms. The solicitation will contain an optional line item for installation, on the tower, of Government furnished radio, radar, and microwave equipment. Delivery will be required approximatley 4 months after contract award. This acquisition will be solicited as a 100% small business set-aside. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which, if timely received, shall be considered by the agency. The RFP will be issued on or about 14 July 97 with a 3-4 week closing.
