59 -- ACOUSTIC RAPID COTS INSERTION (A-RCI) PRODUCTION KITS SOL N00024-97-R-6242 DUE 092697 POC Janel Hradecky (703) 602-7702 X629; Contracting Officer -- Chris Pigott (703) 602-7703 X656 The Naval Sea Systems Command has a requirement for the production of Acoustic Rapid Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) Insertion (A-RCI) kits. A-RCI is a COTS sonar upgrade to the AN/BSY-1 and AN/BQQ-5 systems used on SSN 688, SSN 688I and SSBN 726 class submarines. A-RCI has four implementation phases and the contemplated contract will procure kits for all of these phases. Deliveries will begin in FY98 and be completed in FY00. NAVSEA intends to award this contract to Lockheed Martin Federal Systems in Manassas, VA as it is the primary designer and integrator of the AN/BSY-1 and AN/BQQ-5 systems, the developer of the A-RCI upgrade program, and possesses the unique assets and facilities needed to meet all of the Navy's requirements.
