NOTICE OF OPTIONS This notification is issued in accordance with FAR 17.207(c). Contract 500-97-0114 was awarded April 8, 1997 for a base period of 2 years with 2 one-year options for a National software system capable of processing Medicare Part B claims. Contract 500-97-0123 was awarded April 8, 1997 for a base period of 2 years with 2 one-year options for a National software system capable of processing Medicare Durable Medical Equipment claims and also has options for software tools and associated installation, related to the tools. These tools are STARS (a utilization profiling; statistical calculation; pattern recognition, hospital, professional, dental, pharmacy, patient, provider, and cross-claim analysis software tool) and SUPEROP (a free standing decision-support event testing, auditing, and inquiry software tool). HCFA may exercise these options if it is determined to be in the Governments best interest.
