THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS FOR LICENSED VENDORS TO PROVIDE SERVICES TO ACCOMPLISH THE FOLLOWING: The National Park Service (NPS) is seeking suggestions for effective means of collecting/disposing of refuse generated by Ellis and Liberty Islands. Materials identified as refuse include all garbage, ashes, construction and landscaping debris, rubbish, cardboard and other similar materials. An estimated 80.5 cu. yd. of trash is generated from Ellis Island daily and 115 cu. yd. of trash from Liberty Island daily. Access to Liberty Island is by boat only. Access to Ellis Island is either by boat or by using temporary bridge (bridge capacity is 12,000 lb. front axle and 24,000 lb. each two rear axles). All equipment and suggested services shall comply with applicable federal, state, and local environmental laws. The National Park Service (NPS) is considering soliciting for disposal services, and/or equipment to absolve the Park's current trash disposal problem. Vendors with suggestions on how to accomplish this task are invited to submit complete information, description, pricing and brochures about their product or service. The sole purpose of this synopsis is to identify prospective sources and does not commit the NPS to issue a solicitation or make an award.
