Z -- REPLACEMENT OF AIR CONDITIONING UNIT, MAIN POST OFFICE, PAWTUCKET, RHODE ISLAND SOL 082530-97-A-0096 DUE 072297 POC Clement Schulze, Project Manager (860) 285-7228 On or about Monday, June 23, 1997, the United States Postal Service, Facilities Service Office, 6 Griffin Road North, Windsor, CT will issue a solicitation for replacement of the air conditioning unit at the Main Post Office, 40 Montgomery Street, Providence County, Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Sealed offers are due on or before Tuesday, July 22, 1997 no later than 4:00 p.m. EST. The estimated cost of the work is between $300,000.00 and $500,000.00. The contract completion time is one hundred and twenty (120) calendar days after the award. The existing air conditioning unit must remain in place and operational through October 9, 1997. All preliminary work will be done prior to the construction start date of October 10, 1997 (Ex Shop drawings, abatement plan, coordination, etc.) Award will be based upon price and other factors as specifically outlined in the solicitation package. THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC OPENING OF THE PROPOSALS AND THE RESULTS OF THE ADVERTISEMENT WILL NOT BE PUBLISHED UNTIL AWARD OF THE PROJECT. There will be a preproposal conference held on Wednesday, July 9, 1997 beginning at 1:00 p.m. on site (40 Montgomery Street) to discuss the specifics of the project. Work includes but is not limited to providing all materials, labor and equipment required to replace the existing air conditioning unit. There is asbestos/lead contaminated materials in some of the materials. The general contractor must have a certified and licensed asbestos abatement subcontractor as part of their team.
