Consolidated Automated Support System (CASS) Test Program Set (TPS) development for various support equipment peculiar to the F/A-18E/F Weapon Replaceable Assemblies (WRA) and Shop Replaceable Assemblies. The US Navy intends to issue solicitation N68335-97-R-0290 on a sole souce basis with McDonell Douglas Aircraft, St Louis, MO, under authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1 with an approved Justification and Approval to follow this announcement. This requirement is for development of SRAs and WRAs to be integrated with peculiar support equipment for which the US Navy does not own the specifications, drawings, and related data to permit full and open competition. Items covered by this procurement include approximately 40 SRA's and WRA's First Article Test Units and engineering and manufacturing development units. Anticipated release of the solicitation is approximately 21 July 1997, with a closing date approximately 30 days thereafter. The US Navy is anticipating a Cost Plus FixedFee type contract.
