T -- TRAFFIC SAFETY PROGRAM VISUAL AND INTERACTIVE COMMUNICATION OUTREACH SOL DTNH22-97-R-05233 DUE 081597 POC Point of Contact -- Joseph Comella, Contract Specialist, (202) 366-9568, FAX (202)366-9555 The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) intends to negotiate on a SOLE SOURCE basis with the Wescott Communication Inc. to provide visual and interactive communication outreach for traffic safety programs(TSP). The contractor is to obtain the necessary qualified personnel, materials, facilities, equipment and services to produce and distribute televised media events, interactive distance programming, and video for traffic safety programs. The contractor is to distribute the TSP programming to the specialized audience of law enforcement, fire and medical emergency staff, hospital nurses and staff, and automotive dealers. The contractor is to provide an interactive medium for training or media events. The Government requires traffic safety programs to be produced and distributed by identified Task Order requirements. The task orders may be responses to breaking news events, to refute erroneous information, to demonstrate safety devices, or to conduct safety training. The period of performance is for twelve (12) months with options for four (4) additional one-year periods. The Government contemplates awarding an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity task order type contract. Expressions of interest without sufficient detail to permit evaluation of capacity will not be considered. Oral expressions of interest will not be considered. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals nor is a RFP solicitation document currently available. In the absence of responses from qualified firms demonstrating their capability, NHTSA intends to request a proposal from Westcott Communications, Inc.
