Existing single ply (PVC) roofing system of approximately 1,374 squares shall be removed and replaced with a new volcanic rock covered modified bitumen roof system which includes the addition of new overflow drains and new wall panels. New membrane flashings and sheet metal flashings shall be included with the work. A 20-year, No Dollar Limit, Manufacturer's warranty will be required. Roofer must be approved by roofing material manufacturer and proof of approval will be required with proposal. The work shall include the installation of a new standing seam metal roofing system over the existing Clerestory lighting roof areas. The work shall also include the installation of a new curtain wall window system at the existing Clerestory windows at the General Mail Facility, Midland, TX, in accordance with plans and specifications. Estimated cost range $1,20O,000.00-$1,36O,000.00; and construction time is 180 calendar days. A 20% proposal bond is required. The successful contractor will be required to provide100% Performance and 50% Payment Bonds within forty-eight (48) hours after notification of award. Successful offeror must submit their Subcontracting Plan for Small and Minority-Owned and Woman-Owned Business initially and thereafter with their progress payments. The contractor shall subcontract with minority business firms in an amount aggregating not less than 10% of the total value of its subcontracts. Offers will be received in this office, prior to, but not later than 3:30 p.m. on July 16, 1997. This is a request for proposals, therefore, no public opening will be conducted. The number of offers received, the identity of the offerors, the amount of any one offer, or relative standing of offeror will not be disclosed to anyone until after award of a contract is made and the request is submitted in writing.
