commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart
12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this
notice. This notice constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are
being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The
Volpe Center plans to procure through Simplified Acquisition procedures
qualified contractors to provide systems hardware components for the
U.S. Army's Modular Causeway Ferry (MCF) powered sections that are
listed on an Interim Support Item List (ISIL). There are five hundred
and twenty six (526) line items (per kit) required. The ISIL contains
manufacturer's part numbers, cage codes, national stock numbers (NSN)
(as applicable) and quantity for each item. The list contains two
hundred and fifty six (256) line items that have national stock numbers
(NSN). The contractor shall provide two (2) kits of systems hardware
components listed on the ISIL. This solicitation is issued as a Request
for Quotation (RFQ), Solicitation No. DTRS57-97-Q-80157. This
solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those
in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-46. The Standard
Industrial Classification Code is 3731 and the Small Business Size
Standard is 1,000 employees. All interested sources must identify the
product by submitting pricing data and an accurate description of the
equipment offered. Interested sources must contact Karen Marino at
617/494-2437 to obtain a complete listing of the items listed on the
Interim Support Item List (ISIL) in order to respond to the RFQ.
Delivery shall be FOB Destination September 30, 1997 to: Receiving
Officer, CBC Warehouse 320, Mark for Building 400, POC: Larry Jacobs,
U.S. Department of the Navy, Naval Construction Battalion Center, 5200
CBC 2nd Street, Gulfport, MS 39501. The provision at 52.212-1,
Instruction to Offerors -- Commercial, applies to this acquisition, no
addenda applies. The provision at 52.212-2, Evaluation --
CommercialItems, applies to this acquisition as follows: The offeror
must meet all approved drawings and conform to good design and
manufacturing practices. Award: Offers will be received on an all or
none basis. The Government will award a purchase order resulting from
this solicitation to the responsible offeror conforming to the
solicitation that will be the most advantageous to the Government,
price, past performance and other factors considered. All offerors must
include a completed copy of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror
Representations and Certifications -- Commercial Items. The clause at
52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions -- Commercials Items, applies
to this acquisition. The clause at 52.212-5, Contract Terms and
Conditions Required To Implement Statutes or Executive Orders --
Commercials Items, applies to this acquisition; additional clauses
cited in 52.212-5 that apply to this acquisition are: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7,

This notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned
and disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of
Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Business and Disadvantaged
Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist minority,
women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related
contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program
(STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000. For further
information and applicable forms concerning the STLP, please call the
