Tims Tel: (410) 965-9488 The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Microsoft Corporation, 5335 Wisconsin Avenue, N.W., Washington, DC 20015, for a firm-fixed price indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity contract to acquire Microsoft support services under the test program for commercial items pursuant to FAR, Subpart 13.6, and as authorized by 41 U.S.C. 253. The resulting contract shall be for a twelve month period with options for four additional 12 month periods. Microsoft shall be required to provide expert support services which will concentrate on forthcoming network design and planning, future Microsoft releases, internal Microsoft business plans, and optimal configuration for SSA's IWS/LAN. Based on the results of a sources sought synopsis and information received from industry, Microsoft Corporation is the only company capable of providing the required services due to the need for access to Microsoft proprietary software code.
