S -- MEDICAL WASTE REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL SERVICES SOL RFP 600-025-97 DUE 081197 POC Ronald Ferrer Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, plant and related services to Remove and Dispose Medical Waste generated by three VA facilities -- VAMC Long Beach, VAMC West Los Angeles and VA Southern California System of Clinics. Their combined estimated annual requirements for the base year period are: sharps(63,129 lbs) trace chemotherapy waste(9,507 lbs), biohazardous/infectious waste (454,100 lbs) and pathological waste (3,879 lbs). The contract period is from October 1, 1997 to September 30, 1998, with the Government having the option to extend the contract for four(4) one-year periods. Full and open competition will be sought. All businesses are encouraged to reply. Solicitation will be issued on/about July 10, 1997.
