COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 25,1997 PSA#1874U.S. Department of Labor, Procurement Services Center, 200 Constitution
Ave, NW, Room N-5416, Washington, DC 20210 U -- TRAINING AND PROCESS SIMULATION SOL RFP L/A 97-40 POC Phyllis R.
McMeekin, Contracting Officer, (202) 219-6445. The Department has a
three phased requirement supportive of the Bureau of Lavor Statistics
(BLS); to include an executive briefing and training session, advanced
training in process simulation, and a critique of BLS process and
final report. The BLS's Compensation Survey Program's data collection
process is unique in the job matching of occupational compensation data
in both private and public establishments. Through technological and
managerial advances of data collection, the Office of Compensation and
Working Conditions seeks to advance its knowledge base of computer
aided process analysis and simulation. Through years of data
collection, BLS has determined that a structured reengineering process
is required to support this effort. The contractor must have a proven
track record with other Government agencies and process knowledge and
skills in econometric modeling. The Department anticipates issuing a
purchase order to CAPI Inc. of Pote Vedra Beach, Florida, which has
formalized, structured trainingmodels and simulation components which
incorporate animation techniques to analyze process flows and
bottlenecks to reengineer its data collection efforts. References from
other Government agencies and private sector firms indicate that this
vendor is uniquely qualified. The estimated cost is $49,000 for the
three phases (eighteen training days) of the requirement. No
solicitation document is available. (0174) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0078 19970625\U-0003.SOL)
