Piunno, Code 02631A, Contract Specialist 703-602-0951 The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to procure up to a total of fifty-three (53) Versatile Exercise Mine Systems (VEMS). The basic procurement will include seventeen (17) VEMS, with options for quantities totaling thirty-six (36) systems, ancillary equipment, maintenance support material, refurbishment items, associated data, technical manuals, engineering services and support. The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a sole source contract to British Aerospace (BAeSEMA, LTD), Marine Division, P.O. Box 5 Filton, Bristol, BS12 7QW, United Kingdom, under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). BAeSEMA is the sole designer of the VEMS and the only company that possesses the in-depth technical knowledge of the equipment requirement to satisfactorily perform the work under the contract contemplated herein.
