(1) Name: PDS Optical subscriber transmission system (2) Overview: A purpose of this system is to realize various communication services and video transmission services economically. There are two types of PDS Optical Subscriber transmisson system according to their differences in the types of services and technologyies. $B#1!% (JN-PDS Optical Sub scriber Transmisson System : This system consists of Optical line terminal, Optical Subscriber unit, Optical network unit,and Shared optical network unit. $B#2!% (JFDM-type PDS Optical Subscriber Transmisson System : This system consists of FDM-type optical transmitter,FDM-type optical repeater unit, FDM optical line terminal, and FDM optical network unit. -Estimated procurement quantity,Prototype:1 set for each system(May, 1998 $B!K (J,Commercial model $B!' (3) Description of the Request for Comments: Applicants are requested to present comments regarding NTT's procurement program of the product mentioned above. NTT will accept comments on all aspects of the procurement program, for example, in the following terms :, (i) Research and development specifications draft, (ii) Applicable technology, (iii) Related products, (iv) Period of commercialization, (v) Development costs,All supplied comments will be regarded as non-secret information and may be disclosed to third parties in the form of, for example, inclusion in the corresponding PROCUREMENT DOCUMENTATION, or it may become available to third parties. Even in such cases, NTT will undertake no responsibility for any outcomes arising from management, disclosure, or use of supplied comments. (4) Request for Declaration of the Intention of Participating as a Subcontractor: Any suppliers wishing to participate as a subcontractor in the product procurement program of NTT, are requested to supply NTT with the information listed below. After preparing a list of supplied information, NTT will provide the list to suppliers who wish to be provided with it, to those who have responded to the request for supply of the information listed and to those who have purchased the PROCUREMENT DOCUMENTATION relating to procurement of the product.
