This is a test acquisition for the pilot program for the commercial assembly of the Unitized Group Ration, Cook Prepared, Perishable (UGR-A). This test acquisition is for the Direct Vendor Delivery of a UGR-A module containing a full complement of semi-perishable, frozen and disposable items for one menu to feed 50 soldiers. The UGR-A comes in 5 breakfast menus and 10 lunch/dinner menus. This test acquisition is for an Indefinite Quantity Type Contract for a 6 month period with a corresponding 6 month option period. The sites for this test are Fort Hood, TX and Ft. Steward, GA. The estimated base quantities for this test acquisition are 1600 breakfast modules and 1600 dinner modules per site. Delivery of the base quantity is from October 1997 through March 1998 and delivery of the option period would be from April 1998 through September 1998.
