99 -- HONOR AWARD MEDALS, EMBLEMS AND PRESENTATION BOXES SOL 14-01-0001-98-R-03 DUE 081597 POC Fran Buhman, Contracting Officer, (202) 208-3931 The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI), Interior Service Center, has requirement for the manufacture of honor award medals, emblems and presentation boxes. DOI Distinguished Service Awards: Medals to be pressed in 14k gold, 1 -- 9/16 inch diameter, 1/8 inch thickness, contain 1.0 fine ounce gold plus .09 fine ounce silver; emblems to be pressed in 14k gold, 9/16 inches in diameter, 1/16 inch thickness, with stick pin type back, .06 fine ounce gold. DOI Valor Awards: Medals to be pressed in 14k gold, 1 -- 9/16 inch diameter, 1/8 inch thickness, 1.0 fine ounce gold plus .09 fine ounce silver. DOI Meritorious Service Awards: Medals to be cast in .925 fine sterling silver, 1 9/16 inch in diameter, 1/8 inch thickness, 1.45 fine ounce silver; emblems to be cast in .925 fine sterling silver, 9/16 inch diameter, with stick pin type back, 1/16 inch thickness, .05 fine silver. DOI Superior Service Awards: Emblems to be 5/8 inch, golden bronze with stick pin type back, in presentation box; presentation box to be plastic with foam material for emblem to be attached to. Presentation Cases to be included: Blue box, approximately 2-7/8 inches square, 1-1/16 inches thick, with indention for 1-9/16 inch medal. Consideration will be given to a different presentation box of comparable value. Dies which were made by the Bureau of Mint, Department of Treasury, will be furnished by the Government. Only offerors with compatible equipment who can use these dies will be considered. Dies, photographs and sample medals and emblems are available for inspection. Estimated quantities will be provided in the solicitation. Award of an Indefinite Quantity type contract is anticipated. Period of Performance from October 1, 1997, through September 30, 1998, with options to extend the performance period for an additional four (4) one-year periods. Solicitation to be issued on or about July 15, 1997. The applicable SIC and Small Business Sixe Standard are 3911/500 employees. All responsible sources may submit a proposal that will be considered by the agency. Telephone requests for the solicitation will not be considered.***** (0176)
