Library of Congress requires the design, fabrication and installation
of cases and walls for a major exhibition space in the Thomas
Jefferson Building. This space is in the northwest quadrant and is the
twin space of the Treasurers Gallery, which opened May 1, 1997. This
Northwest Curtain and Pavilion consists of two adjoining areas totaling
approx. 6,000 square feet in size. It is highly decorated with mosaic
tile floors, decorative painting and murals. The cases are required to
be designed to meet the safety, security, conservation and
environmental requirements prescribed by the Library. These cases and
walls will be used for the foreseeable future (at least five years) and
are required to be designed to be flexible, adaptable, mobile, durable,
easy to use and provide a design solution that will allow visitors to
enjoy the splendor of the space. Design and production shall be of
approx. 40 core cases in approx. 3 sizes and a core set of mobile and
free standing walls to which individual exhibitions may add
complementary elements as needed. Time is of the essence, as
installation is to take place in Jan/Feb, 1998. Interested parties may
