Y -- EXCAVATION / CONSTRUCTION SERVICES INQUIRY NOTICE SOL WYCKOFF DUE 071197 POC Nancie Boccio, Contract Administrator, 206-453-5000 CH2M HILL, under its ARCSWEST contract with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, is considering a Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) set-aside for excavation services at the Wyckoff/Eagle Harbor Superfund site on Bainbridge Island, Washington. If there is adequate SDB interest and competition, then a set-aside solicitation will be advertised. Work to be performed consists of excavation of contaminated soil at the future groundwater treatment plant site and disposing of the material onsite at a designated location. The project also includes the installation of the following utilities: HDPE influent pipe, HDPE effluent pipe, PVC gravity sewer, PVC sewer force main, HDPE LP gas pipe, HDPE water supply, HDPE decontamination water line, PVC electrical conduit, and PVC telephone conduit. In addition, a reinforced concrete pump sump will be installed in the excavated area to provide a wetwell for future area drainage. Upon completion of the excavation and utility work, crushed surfacing material shall beplaced on the site, providing a "clean zone" for the future treatment plant construction project. Bidders will be required to certify its field employees are health and safety trained and required to provide documentation of meeting WISHA requirements for entry and work at a Superfund site. Potential bidders should express their interest in a letter to the above point of contact and include the following: name of company; point of contact; street address; telephone and fax number; project understanding; firm capabilities; and experience with similar projects using the same piping materials and excavation of contaminated soil; proposed subcontractors; and maximum bonding and insurance capabilities.
