Project is located on the Red River Ranger District, Idaho County, Idaho; from Grangeville, Idaho take State Highway 13 east to the junction of State Highway 14, then take Highway 14 towards Elk City to Mile Point 35.25 and junction with Forest Road 492, then take Forest Road 492 to the trailhead between MP 10 and 11. Project consists of trail opening 1.2 miles of wilderness trail and 2 miles of non-wilderness trail; reconstruction of 6445 feet including trail reconstruction on 1329 feet, removal of a turnpike structure, construction of a 75 foot puncheon bridge, installation of drainage structures and construction of 110 feet of turnpike. Estimated start work is September 2, 1997. The estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000. (0176)
