THE FREEZER AND COOLER COMBINATION RFQ 546- 09 -97 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested. Solicitation RFQ 546-09 -97 is issued as a request for proposal and incorporates provisions and clauses that are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 46. The Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC) is 3585 Small Business Size Standard is 500 Employees Replacement equipment: 1 Vendor will supply all parts,labor and material for the complete installation of s combination freezer/Cooler. 2. The freezer and cooler combination provided under this specification shall be prefabricated of modular design. Panels shall be constructed to allow for easy, accurate field assembly with provisions to facilitate future enlargement or relocation. Equipment shall meet or exceed current requirements of the following specifications: electrical components shall meet the requirements of the national electrical code (NEC); refrigeration components shall meet the specifications established by the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). Standard panels must be a maximum widths of 48" and fully interchangeable for ease of installation. Corner panels are in accordance with the floor plan. Tongue and groove perimeter edge of panels for proper alignment. All panels shall be provided with cam- action panel fasteners. Locks shall be in plastic locks with access hole for hex wrench. Access holes shall be covered with snap caps. Freezer: insulation shall be a 4" thick class 1, rigid urethane foam, 1.9 to 2.2 lb. Cu.ft. Polystyrene 1.0 lb./cu ft.density. The thermal conductivity factor ("k") shall not exceed 0.24 btu/h/sq.ft. /degree f/in. Installation shall be a 97 closed cell structure, UL classified 10 flame spread, 130 smoked developed. The "r" factor for "4" insulation is 16.4. The exterior wall, and ceiling finish shall be 26 guage, white embossed galvanized steel.and ceiling finish shall be mill, smooth, stainless steel, no.304,3 finish. The existing building floor is to remain with no new floor being installed. Door: freezer: one (1) 5'x7', infitting door, switch with pilot light, electric door heater, heavy duty chrome hardware, inside safety release handle and padlock provision on single point latch. Cooler: one (1) 5'x7', infitting door, switch with pilot light, heavy duty chrome hardware, inside safety release handle and padlock provision on single point latch. 2 freezer: 38,800 total btu/h one (1) complete remote mount system to include: one (1) water cooled condensing unit, 208-230v/ 3 phase/ 60 hz, using r-22 freon balanced with two (2) standard velocity electric defrost evaporators; sight glass, dryer, pressure control, expansions valve, industrial thermostat, solenoid, coil, drain heater, heat exchanger, timer, vibration eliminator; (5) year compressor warranty (by contractor), and one (1) year parts warranty. Evap units are 208-230v/ single phase. 3 cooler: 28,600 total btu/h one (1) complete remote mount system to include: one (1) water cooled condensing unit, 208-230v/ 3 phase/ 60 hz, using r-22 freon) balanced with two (2) standard velocity air defrost evaporators; sight glass, dryer, pressure control, expansion valve, industrial thermostat, solenoid, coil, vibration eliminator; five (5) year compressor warranty (by contractor), And one (1) year parts warranty. New installation of lights in cooler and freezer. 4 misc. Equipment: 0ne (1) remote dial thermometer per room. Aluminum angle to affix to floor. Mastic sealant for panel joints. Metal clad ceiling stringer. 0ne (1) presure relief vent shall be provided to equalize the difference to pressure between the interior and exterior of the frezer. Optional water regulating valves for condensing units. 5 Disassemble and remove refrigerator/freezer structure and all of its components. Installation of new refrigerator/freezer to include all connections to existing utilities. These connections need to be coordinated with the VA's Purchasing Agent technical represenative. Contractor is required to provide operation/service (maintenance) manuals with each piece of equipment.
