NIST Contracts Office, Contract@nist.gov. The National Institute of
Standards and Technology will conduct a nine month effort to develop
reference implementations of Public Key infrastructure (PKI) components
meeting the Minimum Interoperability Specifications for PKI Components
(MISPC). The contractor will develop a system design and implement a
certification authority, organizational registration authority, and a
certificate holding client. The contractor will also assist NIST in the
demonstration of the PKI components. This project requires a project
manager with expertise in PKI and experience managing custom
development projects. The contractor will also be required to
demonstrate the following: 1) The contractor possesses the necessary
expertise in computer security and public key infrastructure; and 2)
The contractor possesses the technical expertise and recent experience
in system design and development. Required Delivery FOB Destination,
Gaithersburg, Md. nine months after contract award. A solicitation
using Simplified Acquisition Procedures will be used with an
anticipated award date of August 15, 1997. All responsible sources may
submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. See Note
