TEXAS NATURAL RESOURCE CONSERVATION COMMISSION PUBLIC NOTICE OF INVITATION FOR BIDS This is a formal Notice to Bidders of the intention of the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission (TNRCC) to let a contract for the Texarkana Wood Preserving Company Superfund Site Interim Activities Phase. In general terms, the work shall consist of providing all personnel, equipment and material to demolish existing on-site structures. Salvageable metal debris from on-site structures, tanks, and debris piles shall be disposed of at an off-site salvage/disposal facility. Nonsalvageable debris shall be handle and disposed of onsite. This project also involves the handling of investigation derived wastes (IDW) contained in drums. Soil and water from the IDW drums will be removed and disposed of onsite. Plastic and PPE from the IDW drums shall be disposed off-site at a permitted facility. In addition, the project involves the decommissioning of an on-site monitoring well. A more detailed summary of the work is provided in the Technical Specifications of the Contract Documents. BIDS will be received until 3:00 pm Central Standard Time on July 24, 1997, at the mail room of the TNRCC, Technical Park Center, 12100 Park 35 Circle, Building A, Room 122, Austin, Texas 78753. BIDS will then be publicly opened and read aloud in Building A, Room 315-A. TIME OF SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION shall be 140 calendar days as specified and defined in the Supplemental Conditions (Section 00800). ANY CONTRACT awarded under this Invitation for Bids is expected to be 90% funded by a Cooperative Agreement from the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the remaining 10% matched by the State. Neither the United States nor any of its departments, agencies, or employees is or will be a party to the Invitation for Bids or any resulting contract.
