PRESOLICITATION NOTICE -- The work includes the furnishing of all
labor, approved materials and equipment required to complete the
upgrade of the existing electrical system within the existing hospital
facility. Project includes the removal and replacement of existing
panelboards, the addition of HVAC equipment and secondary exits in the
main electrical rooms, the removal and relocation of existing
electrical equipment to correct National Electrical Code violations,
and the installation of new branch circuit wiring and receptacles per
the National Electrical Code, and incidental related work complete and
ready for use. The work also includes the replacement of existing
switchboard "EPDB-22" and the maintenance of all emergancy loads served
by "EDPB-2", to be served by an on-site trailer-mounted generator set
"TG-1". The generator set and required components shall be contained
within the designated lay-down area. -- The estimated cost is between
$500,000 and $1,000,000. -- Firm Fixed Price Contract. -- Contract
duration is approximately 270 calendar days. -- This proposed contract
will be unrestricted. -- The Standard Industrial Code is 1731 and the
annual size standard is $17 million. It is recommended the
subcontracting goals reflect a minimum goal of 5% for Small
Disadvantaged Business Subcontracting effort. Bidders should request in
writing stating IFB number N68711-97-B-8301, with complete name,
address, area code and phone number and whether bidding as a
prime/subcontractor/supplier. -- Telephone requests will not be
accepted. -- There will be a charge for plans and specs that is yet to
be determined. The fee will be non-refundable. -- The only methods of
payment that will be accepted for plans and specifications are Visa,
Mastercard, cashiers checks or money orders and they should be made out

Solicitation packages are limited to two (2) sets per prime and one (1)
set per subcontractor/supplier. -- Bidders responding under this
advertisement will not be required to resubmit request once formally
advertised. -- Tentative issue date is on or about 14 July 1997 with an
opening date of approximately 30 days later (NOTE: BOD stated above is
TENTATIVE). -- Responses are due no later than 15 calendar days after
