provide all labor and material required for the Repair, Inspection,
Testing, Preservation, Packaging and Marking of a Government Furnished
propulsion shaft used on the 225'WLB Coast Guard Cutters. The required
repairs shall be in accordance with Coast Guard Specification
R-243-0309, Barcoding shall be in accordance with Specification
4330-D-000-100. The subject shaft is 46' 4 3/8" in length with a 14"
basic shaft diameter and 37 1/4" flange diameter and was forged from
ASTM A668/A668M-96 Class E material (Same as American Bureau of
Shipping ABS Grade-4). The shaft weighs approximately 24,000 lbs. The
manufacturing of a sleeve in accordance with ASTM-B369-93 UNS. No.
C96400 centrifugally cast with Supplementary Requirements S2.1, S3, and
S5.1 will be included as a contingency item in this requirement.
Straightening, Balancing and Welding Procedures and Qualifications
shall also be submitted for approval. This is a one-time buy for repair
of one shaft. Delivery of theArrival Test & Inspection Reports shall be
30 days after receipt of the government furnished shaft. Delivery of
the repaired shaft shall be 90 days after notice to proceed with
repairs is issued. Delivery to be F.O.B. Destination to the USCG
Engineering Logistics Center, 2401 Hawkins Point Road, Baltimore, MD
21226. See Numbered Note #26. All responsible sources may submit a bid
