F -- PRECOMMERCIAL THINNING SOL Sol No. 7-97-R28 DUE 081497 POC Contact Point, Cecilia Rogers, 541/416-6534, FAX 541-416-6661 This project consists of Pre Commercial thinning on the Paulina Ranger District of the Ochoco National Forest. This will be an indefinite quantities contract, with a minimum of 350 acres and a maximum of 700 acres. Some units will consist of thin and buck, and some units will be thin, lop and scatter. Also, one bid item will consist of site preparation using a power driven rotary head with capabilities of chopping, chewing or grinding wood fiber up to and including seven inches in diameter. A tracked machine with 5 lbs or less per square inch of ground pressure. The width of the machine including accessories shall not exceed 10.5 feet in width and must be able to maneuver within tree spacing of 14-16 feet without damage to the leave trees. Estimated start work date will be late August or early September and be completed in 1998. No bonding is required. Farm Forest Labor License and Migrant Seasonal Workers Protection Act is applicable.
