and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is seeking contractors to
provide all management, supervision, labor, materials, supplies, and
equipment necessary to host Teacher workshops at various locations
throughout the United States in support of the GLOBE Program Teacher
Workshops. The GLOBE program is a hands-on environmental science and
education program that unites students, educators, and scientists from
around the world in studying the global environment. Workshops are to
be held in CO, PA, SC, KS, ME/NH/VT/MA/CN/RI, FL, OH, CA (North of San
Jose and South of San Jose), OR/WA, NM, and TX, at various times
between October 1997 through January 1998, with five (5) options for
future workshops during the Spring, Summer, and Fall of 1998, and
Spring and Summer of 1999. The government anticipates making multiple
awards through the use of full and open competition utilizing
Simplified Acquisition Procedures for the above described services. The
SIC code is 8741. The size standard is $5.0M. Firm-fixed price awards
will be made based on a best value basis, giving due consideration to
technical and cost factors. The Request for Quotes will be issued on or
about July 15, 1997. The closing date will be July 29, 1997 with awards
shortly thereafter. All requests for copies of the RFQ must be in
writing or by FAX to 301/713-0809. All responsible sources may submit
