The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to award to Ansoft Corporation, Four Station Square, Suite 660, Pittsburgh, PA 15219 on a sole source basis because this software will be used to analyze the electromagnetic characteristics of a broad range of devices, to include: (a) the electric, and magnetic fields and current distribution in 3D and 2D electronic, electrical, and optoelectronic packages and circuits; planar and coaxial transmission lines; rectangular and circular waveguides; and (b) the radiation pattern and efficiency of antennae. The software must be a PC/Windows-NT based full wave finite element method (FEM) analysis tool with automatic adaptive meshing to perform the above listed analyses.
