The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) seeks to extend the period of performance for an additional twenty-four months under an existing contract for labor hour services. The PBGC seeks to increase the total hours available under a contract to acquire professional services for project management consulting to provide PBGC with a single integrated software solution for valuations and benefit calculations. Successful accomplishment of this effort requires substantial experience in the establishment and management of system dvelopment efforts (particularly those utiliziang diverse commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software) and the following: in-depth knowledge of PBGC business processes; familarity with actuarial valuation methodologies; an appreciation of customer service principles and their application; a broad understanding of how computer and communications technology can be applied to address government issues and concerns, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse community of government and private industry staff. This is a continuation of work already being undertaken by an existing provider. The provider has the capabilities and knowledge gained from experience with the existing Actuarial Application. It is PBGC's belief that in view of the provider's familiarity with PBGC's Valuation and Benefit calculation system requirements, the provider is uniquely qualified to perform the duties of the contract without an undue amount of assistance from the PBGC.
