STATEMENTS FROM QUALIFIED HIGH VOLTAGE CONTRACTORS FOR HIGH VOLTAGE
LINE CONVERSION-POWER POLE REPLACEMENT, POINT BONITA, CALIFORNIA. The
U.S. Coast Guard is soliciting prequalification statements from prime
high voltage contractors interested in being placed on a prequalified
contractor's list for a High Voltage Line project in the San Francisco
Bay Area. The scope of work consists of converting existing 5KV/2.4KV
overhead power lines into a 12 KV overhead power line system. These
lines feed all facilities at Point Bonita, at the entrance to the
Golden Gate Channel in Marin County. The existing pole lines are
approximately 3,000 feet long and some of the poles need replacement
which will require using helicopters sue to rough terrain. Included in
the work is the replacement of three pole mounted transformers, wire
lines, crossarms and associated hardware, three KW-HR meters and the
installation of 600 feet of 480 volt wire in existing underground
conduit, plus an indoor480-120 volt transformer and associated wiring
equipment. Interested firms must submit a detailed statement of
qualifications address the following prequalification requirements: 1.
A certified copy of the Company's current California Contractor's
License showing that the firm is licensed to perform high voltage
electrical work. 2. A list of all employees who will work on this
project, showing they have the required specific training and skills,
are properly certified as defined in State of California High Voltage
Safety Orders (Title 8, Chapter 4, Subchapter 5). 3. A detailed list of
owned equipment of proof of the ability to have access to proper
equipment to complete the type of project. 4. Listing of five (5)
similar type High Voltage Projects completed within the last three
years, within the San Francisco Bay Area, with principal points of
contact identified. 5. Firm must demonstrate financial responsibility
commensurate with the scope of the project. 6. Firm has adequate
insurance coverage or can obtain full insurance coverage, including
workman compensation, liability, auto, allowance to $1,000,000.00. 7.
Firm is able to furnish payment and performance bonds for the project.
8. Firms project management, safety records, and Company organization
structure. 9. A complete list of an OSHA Safety Violations which have
occurred in the past three years, and the corrective measures taken.
PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. FIRMS WHO MEET
THE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS WILL BE ISSUED PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
FOR A COMPETITIVE BID, LUMP SUM, FIXED PRICE CONTRACT. Estimated Price
