POC Janet M. Mattson, Contracting Officer, (301) 405-4511 The National
Cancer Institute plans to procure on a Sole Source Basis, under
authority of FAR 6.302-1, in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1), a
Stereotactic Radiosurgery System, including a set of fixed applicators,
couch stabilizers, dual accelerator installation, 10 cm x 12 cm
mini-multileaf collimator, and computerized system for stereotactic,
conformal and dynamic treatment planning from Radionics Software
Applications Inc., 22 Terry Ave., Burlington, MA. The project is for
the development of stereotactic radiosurgery at the NCI in support of
the research mission of the institute. The equipment must be compatible
with the existing Varian Clinac 2300 C/D and an additional 600 C/D
linear accelerator. The need to ensure and verify spatial accuracy of
radiation delivery when switching between accelerators make competition
unfeasible for this acquisition. The Radionics's laser localizer is
based uon proprietary specifications and required for the NCI research.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals;
however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability
to respond to the requirement. Information furnished shall include
enough material, in sufficient detail, to perform a proper evaluation
of their ability to perform. Closing date is 45 days after publication
of this notice. SEE Note 22. (0183) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0235 19970707\65-0005.SOL)
